I hate that it's set in our modern way of living and not Dragonball's.

I did, however, like the Capsule Corp. bit. At least they got Capsule Corp. right. If they couldn't get that right, I'd worry.

Seriously though, it looks horrible as a Dragonball movie. Looking at it objectively, it might be an okay-mediocre movie if you don't link it to the original Dragonball.

Ah, I'm sorry... but that looks baaad. I mean, I never liked Dragonball so maybe that's just me. I'm even more bitter because that super annoying guy from The Invisible is in it. I HATE HIM.

No. It will never look sweet ever. OH MAN, I saw their initial ideas for when Goku turns into his monkey form. It was the most retarded thing I had EVER seen. Though they stated that that was just preliminary ideas and it is not the final product. I hope not, 'cause he looked more like a human-sized lizard than a skyscraper-sized apemonkey. HOW DO YOU SCREW THAT UP SO BADLY?

Also, why aren't they starting the movie when he's, y'know, a nine year old boy or whatever, like he is throughout most of Dragon Ball? Just. Just. What the eff. ARE THEY JUST GONNA SKIP HIS WHOLE CHILDHOOD? Or... are they rewriting it? ;-;

Is Shen Long going to be in the movie at all? I mean, I would assume so, since the whole point of the dragon balls is to, y'know, summon him. He better look EXACTLY like he's supposed to. He's the coolest Divine Dragon out of all of them and if he looks stupid, I won't ever forgive them.

Hey, I got the Phantom part of the joke. I just know nothing about Dragonball, so that was lost on me. XD

And after watching the trailer again, I still have to say that it looks kinda cool. I realize it's probably butchering a beloved show for some of you, but having never seen it (and without really any knowledge at all about it), I think it stands a chance of being good.

As a movie on its own, I agree, it has about as much potential for success and coolness as the Mortal Kombat movies (in case you don't know, that isn't very much). It will be cool in a way that is totally not related to Dragon Ball. But for ANYONE who has watched Dragon Ball, there's no way of looking at it objectively enough to find it anything other than a bastardization.

So kinda like with me and Legend of the Seeker. XD I can totally understand that.

Or like me and the new Anne of Green Gables movie that's effing up the books so bad I could barf?!

Now if they could only make a live action Sailor Moon movie! Maybe you just can't make a good live action movie out of things like Dragonball?

The first anime that came out for it wasn't that great ... But the manga and Hellsing Ultimate OVA's are sex.

I haven't watched any Hellsing Ultimate in soooo long. I only saw the first two OVAs and that was it. I should get the rest.

I don't think I'd want to see a live action Hellsing. It's TOO cool as it is, I wouldn't want to risk it being ruined. It would be very hard to make a live action version as cool as the manga/OVA.

I think that even without the Dragonball pretense, this looks like an awful movie.
